So... what is chainstitch anyway?

Chainstitch embroidery is an artform that dates back over 100 years. Can you envision an old letterman's jacket with it's big, puffy letter patch? Now try to picture a perfectly imperfect script name on a vintage bowling shirt... or an auto repair shop uniform.

Chainstitch is an art of yesteryear that we now see popping up across social media more and more.

These stitches are laid freehand by turning a crank under the machine. It's all so wonderfully quirky and one-of-a-kind. Chainstitching is basically a continuous line drawing, but with thread. In a world of computerized and digital everything, chainstitch embroidery produces something truly unique. You are only limited to your imagination.
